Built in 1988, Phoenix House is a HUD Section 8 apartment complex, meeting the needs of people with disabilities.
The Phoenix House complex is comprised of fourteen one-bedroom, ground-level access units, located at 4400 Knight Road (just across the street from Phoenix’s main office). HUD Section 8 housing complexes provide individuals with subsidized housing, based upon the individual’s rent-paying ability. The subsidized rent includes grounds maintenance, utilities and all other services. The complex also has ground-level laundry facilities, as well as a large resource room for meetings, gatherings and other events.
Phoenix House is managed by DALCOR Properties, Inc., a socially responsible HUD Section 8 property management company, operating rental properties in seven states throughout the Southeast.
Acquiring Accommodations at Phoenix House
Individuals interested in living at Phoenix House must be able to live independently and/or have arrangements for full-time living attendants. Additionally, a waiting list typically exists, based upon priority of occupancy, determined by HUD Section 8 guidelines.
