On April 8th the Cullman Autism & Special Needs Family Networking Group held its annual Awareness Day at Heritage Park in Cullman, AL. Each year families and individuals come out to show support for those living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and raise money for the Autism Society of Alabama. Since its beginning in 2005, the group has grown to include anyone with a disability and works with many agencies and community groups to foster awareness and inclusion in Cullman County and surrounding areas. There are over 100 families involved the Cullman Autism & Special Needs Networking group. They participate in monthly meetings, social groups and host a training seminar for educators, health and social workers and
families every two years.
The Tennessee Valley Team was excited to participate in this years’ event. While children jumped in inflatable castles and ran through
obstacle courses and people of all ages enjoyed balloon creations with Cliff the Clown, we were able to share Phoenix’s mission and values with several families and individuals. It was a pleasure to share in the fun with this great community of people and see the community come together in support of inclusion for all!
